This is a project to commemorate a thousand-year-old divine tree in Xitou National Forest Park. After being crushed down by a strong typhoon in 2016, the death of a thousand years of life exists in Xitou National Forest Park with a new posture after the deposition and sublimation. It reinterprets the value and meaning of life. In the space of its fallen body, more new life has room and nutrients to grow. Although the divine tree has fallen, it has more vitality and cares for more living things. Take the opportunity of commemorating the divine tree, when designing this exhibition lodge, we use the domestically produced materials jointly promoted by the Forest Service Bureau and The Experimental Forest Administration of National Taiwan University to create this core exhibition space. Using Taiwanese fir and Taiwanese cedar to create a space that seems to be walking in the fallen wood, and personally experience the smell, texture, color, and temperature that grow from the land of Taiwan. The whole space is represented as a trunk, and the fallen end becomes the position of the frame of the wooden house. We also designed two patio windows, which allow natural light to pass through and sprinkle into the core space. As for elevation, the woven pattern of Taiwanese fir slabs is used to interpret the bark texture of the sapwood trunk.
